We are seeking an adult safeguarding nurse specialist to join the safeguarding team at the trust.  The post holder will provide expert advice, support and intervention in relation to patients with safeguarding needs.  Working closely with clinical staff, children’s safeguarding colleagues and local authority safeguarding teams, they will ensure that at risk adult patients are properly supported.

Applicants should be registered nurses with appropriate post registration experience and/or qualifications in the adult safeguarding field.  A detailed knowledge of adult safeguarding practice including the application of the mental capacity act is essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to manage complex and sensitive situations. The ability to manage their workload and to work without direct supervision is necessary. 

Safeguarding has a high profile in the trust and the successful candidate will join a skilled and established team.  The post is full time and undertaken predominantly in office hours.  The base location will be St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, but the post holder will be required to travel to all sites in the Trust as necessary.  There will be continuing professional development opportunities and  supervision available.
