Would you like to develop your skills in renal nursing? Are you interested in being a part of the team that prides on achieving the patient outcomes that are at the top both nationally and internationally? Is improving patient experience something you feel is very important?

Our team is at the forefront of innovative ways of NHS working. The unit is led by an independent nurse prescriber and we look after chronic dialysis patients in the outpatient setting, as well as supporting their dialysis provision when they are admitted to hospital and acutely unwell. With doctors visiting to do clinics once a week, nursing skill development and good communication is essential for this role.

You will learn how to operate haemodialysis machines and combine those technical skills with both the general nursing skills and some very specialised concepts. To support that you will be supernumerary for the first 4-6 weeks.

Therefore, we are looking for a talented, motivated and dedicated individual to join our established team.

The successful applicant will be a highly dynamic and adaptable individual. You will preferably have 6 months of experience in the acute setting, but we will also consider newly qualified applicants.

There are on going opportunities for self development including secondment to the Renal Course at a Degree or Masters level. We offer a variety of training within this speciality and other relevant areas at our main centre.

Charing Cross RDU is a busy satellite haemodialysis unit. We are open from 07:30 – 00:30 Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 07.30- 19.30hrs Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We operate a variety of shifts including short and long days and twilight shifts. The successful candidate is therefore expected to be flexible and able to work all shift patterns to accommodate the service needs.

Short listed candidates will be informed of the interview time by email – candidates are strongly advised to check their email regularly.

Informal visit highly recommended.
