Capital Nurse Rotation Programme

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) is one of the largest NHS Acute Trusts in the country and in partnership with Imperial College London is one of the UK’s first academic health sciences centres (AHSCs). Nurses who are newly qualified can apply for the Capital Nurse Rotation Programme where you will build your experience, knowledge and specific skills in variety of exciting and challenging settings.

This exciting 18-month rotation programme is designed to give you a foundation on which to build a successful career in nursing and includes a Preceptorship training programme. This combination of lectures, shared learning, workshops and simulation during your first 12 months in the Trust will support your transition from student to confident and competent registered nurse. After 12 months we continue to support your development by offering you the opportunity to complete a NMC recognised mentorship qualification.

About the programme

    • During your first 18 months you will undertake the Capital Nurse Rotation Programme rotating through 3 unique areas
  • You will be provided with a permanent contract of employment within the Trust

 

Staff on Rotation will be supported by a lead nurse to oversee the programme and support your development. During your rotation you will undertake specific learning opportunities with both clinical and educational supervision including:

  1. A dedicated Preceptor in each clinical area
  2. A comprehensive Preceptorship Programme consisting of 8 study days
  3. Access to and completion of IV administration training
  4. Completion of a NMC recognised mentorship course

On completion of your 18 month Capital Nurse Rotation Programme you will be able to select the area within the Trust where you would like to be permanently based and remain as a valued member of the Imperial College NHS Trust team.
