Fast forward your haemodialysis nursing career at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. With five world renowned hospitals, we are full of opportunity for nurses who are starting out in renal and haemodialysis care or who are looking for progression to develop new skills.

We are always engaged in audit and research to ensure that we are delivering excellent, evidence-based care. You can apply to move across to our wards, learning to care for acutely ill kidney patients and transplant patients. We will do all we can to ensure you get the experience and training that is right for you.

You will work in a dynamic environment where currently we treat over 1,400 patients on maintenance haemodialysis. Around 170 kidney transplants are performed at our Hammersmith Hospital site each year.

You may choose to learn to deliver renal replacement therapies such as plasma exchange, haemofiltration and acute dialysis on our Auchi unit. Or you can care for our longer term patients who receive maintenance dialysis at one of our west London satellite units. In these nurse-led dialysis satellites you will gain expertise in renal anaemia management, renal bone metabolism, managing arterio-venous access, care for patients with diabetes, hypertension and other renal diseases.

We will guide you along a career pathway that could lead to a Band 6 role, and onwards to become a team leader, unit manager, a non-medical prescriber, renal research nurse or even head nurse. And for the academically interested, we will encourage you to apply for our fully funded, degree level renal care course or a master’s degree level post-graduate certificate in renal care.

Fulfil your potential in hospitals that make history: Charing Cross, Hammersmith, St Mary’s, Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea, Western Eye.
