Echocardiographer – Band 7

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust - London

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and one of the largest Trusts in England. Our mission is to provide world class healthcare for our patients, through excellence in research, education and training.
The Trust has three main sites offering Cardiac Diagnostics – Hammersmith Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital
All our Echocardiography departments at Imperial are fully equipped with the latest range of modern multi-vendor ultrasound scanners. Across the Trust we offer a range of echocardiographic examinations including adult TTE, 3D, TOE, DSE, bubble studies, contrast studies, valve clinic and an inherited disease echocardiography clinic. A number of these clinics are already physiologist led. We would like to increase our physiologist led service by increasing our number of advanced physiologists

We are a BSE TTE accredited department now seeking experienced echocardiographers who have a strong passion for echocardiography to join our team.

You will be based primarily on the Charing Cross site but may at times be required to cover the other sites to aid your training and/or to support the team on other sites in the Trust. We have an expanding Community service we also support.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with good interpersonal skills and who hold a suitable BSc Degree or equivalent. At band 7 level, candidates should be able to demonstrate proven competency in performing and reporting echocardiography studies and will have BSE, EACVI or similar accreditation

We would consider candidates who have not yet gained, but who are working towards, achieving appropriate accreditation in Echocardiography. The post at this level would initially attract a salary at band 6

We currently offer a longer working day with a fortnightly day off. However a flexible working pattern could be discussed at interview. The Trust is actively promoting the provision of seven day diagnostic services; therefore some weekend working may be required

This post offers you the opportunity to work in a stimulating and busy environment whilst allowing you the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills, as well as participate in training and teaching of junior colleagues.
