Band 6/7 dependent on experience

Wound Care Nurse

This is an exciting new opportunity within vascular surgery to work within an integrated team of surgeons, nurses, Physicians, tissue viability service, Trust infection control team, outpatients and community outreach, in the vascular surgical service based at St Mary’s Hospital

Ideally we are looking for an individual who already has had experience in wound care and management of chronic and acute patients with tissue viability needs. This individual will also be expected to take a lead in surgical site surveillance and help develop prevention strategies for the overall management of vascular surgical patients at risk of acquiring surgical site infections.

Although we are keen to recruit to a band 7 level an individual who fulfils the competencies required, we would consider appointing a band 6  nurse who is willing to take this as a development opportunity to acquire the competencies, skills and abilities over the next 12 months, before formally taking on the band 7 role fully.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who has the drive to develop, grow and embed this new role within vascular surgery and who has the ability to work within a MDT in a very busy tertiary vascular surgical service within the Trust.
