Band 8a Risk Management Midwife

This is an exciting opportunity for a midwife with consolidated experience in risk management interested in developing skills and advancing professional career in a cross site senior position. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills to be able to participate and contribute to service developments as well as representing the maternity units at various multidisciplinary forums.

As the Risk Management Midwife within the framework of Clinical Governance, you will lead the team in delivering the quality, governance and safety strategy in the maternity units, and that policies and procedures are in place to enable risks to be identified and managed appropriately. The post holder will implement the risk management strategy which supports internal reporting and communication across the Trust and external agencies. You will be instrumental in monitoring any risk issues and promote and encourage safety awareness. You will be using learning from incidents to inform and develop clinical practices and communicate the learning across maternity services. You will provide professional direction and leadership to the risk midwives, clinical managers, midwives and Maternity Support Workers within Maternity Services.

You will join a dynamic and friendly Multidisciplinary team with strong emphasis on research and quality improvement. As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for recruitment, assessing retention, managing sickness, performance, risk management and clinical audit.
