Applications are invited for a substantive10PA post at North West London Pathology, hosted by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London, UK. An interest in head and neck pathology is essential, and another subspecialty (uropathology or dermatopathology or another subspecialty by agreement) is desired.

A part-time head and neck pathology post will also be considered for those candidates wishing to work part-time. Applications from either GMC or GDC registered candidates are welcomed.

Pathology services in three North West London Trusts joined forces to create a modern more efficient service. Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trusts have agreed to consolidate their pathology services to better manage demand, standardise operations, improve value for money and make use of new technologies.North West London Pathology, (NWLP) is a NHS owned shared services operation (SSO) hosted by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

NWLP provides a full range of histopathology, cytology and post-mortem services. The cellular pathology department also carries out a wide range of research activities and its members are actively involved in teaching and training histopathology trainees, and undergraduate and post-graduate students. NWLP is fully CPA and HTA accredited. The Department has an annual workload of over 89,764surgical specimens, 67,500 gynae-cytology and 12,609 non-gynae cytology specimens.

A formal job plan will be agreed between the appointee and Clinical Lead, on behalf of the Clinical Director.

The post holder and Clinical Lead / Clinical Director will review the Job Plan annually in line with the provisions in Schedule 3 of the Terms and Conditions.  Either may propose amendment of the job plan.
