St Mary’s Hospital, a part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT) an academic health science campus, has a dynamic and evolving physiotherapy service. An opportunity has arisen to appoint a full time Band 7 Paediatric Physiotherapist within the Child Development Service (CDS). The paediatric physiotherapy team, based at St Mary’s Hospital, provides a comprehensive acute and community service to Central and North Westminster and North Kensington and Chelsea localities. Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is the lead provider for the CDS, subcontracting the physiotherapy service from ICHNT.

Embedded within the paediatric physiotherapy provision to the Child Development Service, the post holder would provide expert physiotherapy assessment and management of children with complex needs and motor impairment.  The CDS physiotherapy team deliver clinical work in homes, day placement and educational facilities, the children’s therapy department and at a community clinic.  Alongside other specialist paediatric physiotherapists, the post holder would be responsible for the day to day management of the physiotherapy provision to the CDS. In conjunction with the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Paediatrics) and the Clinical Service Lead Physiotherapist, the post holder will be responsible for team and service development.  Close working relationships exist between the acute paediatric and neonatal multi-disciplinary services and children’s community services, to promote clinical excellence and provide continuity of care for children and young people.
