An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Occupational Therapist with an interest in acute medicine and medicine for the elderly to join an established rotation between St Mary’s and Charing Cross Hospitals. The post holder will have the opportunity to rotate between medicine, acute elderly rehabilitation and medicine for the elderly wards, expanding your specialist experience in a welcoming and supportive environment.

You will receive regular supervision from a Clinical Lead OT to support your clinical and professional development. We actively support continuing personal and professional development through an established performance development review (PDR) system, in-service training and external courses. There are also opportunities to undertake formal postgraduate study.

The Occupational Therapists working across acute and specialist medicine and medicine for the elderly are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary teams. Referrals to the service require timely assessment and intervention to facilitate appropriate rehabilitation and discharge plans. Referrals include those with a wide variety of conditions and co-morbidities, and patients with life limiting conditions (including palliative/end of life care) and candidates will be required to demonstrate relevant clinical experience and knowledge of OT within these settings. In addition to the clinical caseload, the post holder will have the opportunity to play a key part in the development of the Occupational Therapy service and team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Occupational Therapist with excellent time management and advanced communication skills to join the team. The ability to work well with all members of the multi-disciplinary team is essential, as is the ability to promote the role of Occupational Therapy and the implementation of evidence-based practice.
