Do you have expertise and an interest in clinical delivery of physiotherapy for Neonatal Services within an experienced multi-disciplinary team?

Embedded within the inpatient Paediatric Physiotherapy Service the post holder will provide clinical leadership, with specific responsibility for the provision and development of physiotherapy services for Neonatal Services.  Neonatal services are provided at Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital, which are both located on the Hammersmith site, and at St Mary’s Hospital.   The post holder will provide physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice within inpatient and outpatient clinic settings, enabling timely onward referral to community therapy services.  The clinical work includes physiotherapy provision for two neonatal units, including NICU and SCBU; referrals from consultant led neonatal follow up clinics, and supporting referrals and patient pathways from post natal wards. Close working relationships exist with the Neonatal multi-disciplinary therapy team, nursing and medical colleagues to promote best practice and coordinate care and follow up. The post holder will work closely with the inpatient, orthopaedic and community paediatric physiotherapy teams to promote clinical excellence and continuity of care. The post holder also contributes to the outpatient musculoskeletal physiotherapy service, primarily for infants and young children referred to this team.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of paediatric physiotherapy, with a broad base of clinical experience within neonatal, acute and community paediatric settings.  Supported by a dedicated team of paediatric physiotherapists, which includes clinical specialists in Musculoskeletal and Child Development Services, the post holder will contribute to an innovative paediatric physiotherapy service. Opportunities for service development, continuing professional development, peer review, and multi-disciplinary and academic learning opportunities are encouraged and supported. Applications are welcome from those who require flexible working patterns.
