Fulfil your potential in hospitals that make history:

Charing Cross, Hammersmith, St Mary’s, Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea and Western Eye

With five world-renowned hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is full of opportunity if you are looking to develop your healthcare career.

We are an NHS Trust of 10,000 people, providing care for over a million patients from north west London and beyond every year. We have a rich heritage and an ambitious vision for the future of our patients and local communities.

With our partners, Imperial College London, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, we form Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, one of 11 academic health science centres in the UK, working to ensure the rapid translation of research for better patient care and excellence in education.

We are proud of our heritage in innovation and we are early adopters of new insights in technologies, techniques and treatments for improving health.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is an Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and the largest Trust in the country. Our mission is to provide world-class healthcare for our patients, through excellence in research, education and training.

Applications are invited for a 12-month fellowship training programme in regional anaesthesia rotating between St Mary’s (ESRA Accredited) and Charing Cross Hospitals in 6-month placements.  Two fellowship posts are available from August 2020. This post is ideally suited to Specialist Registrars, with an interest in regional anaesthesia, approaching the end of their training, or an anaesthetist who has completed their training and is looking to round off their sub-specialty experience prior to securing a consultant post.

In addition to clinical duties which includes protected training lists, one day a week is dedicated to fellows undertaking activities that enhance their non-clinical skills such as education, research, quality improvement and publication preparation. This time can also be used to further clinical activity elsewhere in the Trust or at other hospitals.

As a Senior Clinical Fellow, the post holder will take part in a 1 in 8 senior tier on-call rota alongside other clinical fellows and senior trainees at their respective clinical sites.

Applicants are required to have completed the FRCA or equivalent qualification and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in anaesthesia and intensive care in a structured training programme. In addition to their protected training lists, fellows will be expected to be able to independently manage their own lists supervised by a consultant in a nearby theatre.

Only online applications will be considered. We would encourage prospective applicants to read the job description including the person specification carefully to ensure they fulfil the minimum essential criteria before applying for this post.
